RIP Toyota Sienna

The front end that cushioned us from the impact.
The inside actually looks pretty clean.  Thanks, airbags!
Lyla's door.  You can see a little blue paint from the Mustang.
The police report says "moderate damage".  I don't think so.

My parents took these pictures at the tow yard yesterday.  The tow truck driver told them the whole story from his point of view.  He said that the drunk driver was resisting the breathalizer test and even fighting and kicking the police officers.  They had to start running the dash camera and actually prick her finger to get a reading.  The tow truck report says "DUI" for her vehicle, but she was able to claim her vehicle from the yard.  It is no longer there, so my dad was not able to get pictures of it.  It makes me mad that she was able to drive her car away when the accident was 100% her fault.  We love you, Toyota Sienna!  You did such a good job protecting us.  When Lyla sees these pictures, she says, "Baaba car.  Broken, broken".

Hi Jessica, we met at Devon's last 2 showers in CA, and I saw a post on Leslie's blog that brought me to absolute tears but was relieved to hear that you, L, your mom, and the little boy in your belly are all unharmed, and that Elvis seems to be doing great despite his new shoes. I'm so sorry to hear what happened, but am relieved to know that somebody was looking out for your. I'm not sure what county the arrest happened in,(San Diego or Orange) but if you go to the county court websites, you can do a search according to defendant's name, you'll see if your perpetrator has a history of DUI or vehicular infractions, or anything else along those lines. LA county charges for web searches, OC doesn't, at least not yet. Since maiden/married names vary and sometimes there are spelling mistakes, you can try by last name only or a combo of first/last, several letters only.
