who says california doesn't have seasons?

We recently got a surprise when we went outdoors to find our trees in bloom with a beautiful display of light pink flowers! In autumn, these trees are such a nuisance because they have sticky seed pods of some sort that fall on the sidewalk and stain the cement. The leaves are large and a dark mahogany color. The leaves all fell this winter, leaving the trees very bare and, well, wintry looking. I had no idea that we were in for this treat.
These little pink blossoms remind me of the cherry blossoms in Japan. We should have our own sakura celebration in honor of these surprise blossoms! They only last about a week in Japan, so I am trying to savor them as much as possible.
It looks like spring has sprung! I am going to miss these little beauties.

happy valentine's day

sweets for the sweet
The ice cream truck comes by our neighborhood everyday. I think Trav and I get just as excited when we hear the music as the kids do! We run outside barefoot with change in our hands everytime.
enjoying the sunshine in our backyard.

um, time to pull the weeds?

something sweet from chicago

I love getting mail unexpectedly. When I saw that we received a package from devon in chicago, I knew it would be something special. Look at this adorable customized onesie for Cody. I can't wait for him to wear it in just a few short months! Thank you, little d!

celebrate good times

Cody at 8 weeks old. Such a sweet baby! He looks like he is yelling in this picture, but he was actually giving us one of his huge Cody smiles.
This is just one of the beautiful places at the Mission of Riverside. We came here to celebrate my mom and my dad's birthdays (they are just 6 days apart). They both love this restaurant, so we actually went here two weeks in a row to celebrate each of their birthdays!

Father and son. I love Cody's big eyes in this picture.
The whole group after a wonderful buffet lunch. The mission also does a wonderful Christmas light display that we missed this year. There's always next year!
Happy 62nd Birthday to both of my fabulous parents!!! I think they both look great to be in their 60s!
