Hartegan wedding in Yosemite

We drove up to Yosemite last weekend for a short vacation to attend a wedding. We left Lyla home with the grandparents and took Cody for the road trip! Here we are at tunnel view checking out the scenery after a long, 8 hour drive. We were so proud of Cody for hanging for that many hours in the car.

This was the view from our hotel room at Yosemite View Lodge. I totally recommend this place as it is right on the river and just outside of the west entrance to the park. The roaring river was so nice to look out to with a cup of coffee in the morning.

The rehearsal dinner was at Glacier Point which has breathtaking views of the valley. It was freezing! We had a great time catching up with the bride and groom before their big day. You can see Half Dome in the back.

On a morning walk outside our hotel.

So pretty.

The first kiss! Sarah and Ryan got married at Yosemite Lodge at the falls. The ceremony was at the base of two gorgeous waterfalls, so the guests faced the falls as we watched them say their vows. Perfection.

They had a small, very simple, and beautiful wedding. The backdrop was so amazing that they didn't need anything extravagant to take away from the grandeur of the location. I like this photo because you can see where the ceremony was right outside.

Here we are the next day at "Swinging Bridge" which, to our surprise, was not a swinging bridge at all. Just a bridge. Beautiful nonetheless.

We stopped by Maripose Grove, home of the giant sequioas on our way out of Yosemite. It was super misty, so we had to keep Cody in the carseat as we did not have sufficient rain gear for him. We hiked a mile each way to see the gigantic trees.

Giant sequoia tree roots. After this, we got back in the car and headed home. Cody was so well-behaved for our entire trip. He got a lot of attention at the wedding from all the ladies. I think that he had a good time overall...I know Trav and I did! Yosemite is such a magical place and it is our new favorite travel destination. I can't wait to take Lyla back someday and show her all the sights.
