fall fun in oak glen

Today we took a family trip for some fall fun. We drove to a town that is about 1 hour due north from winchester. You have to drive through hemet (bleh) and then beaumont (really bleh) and then the road starts going up this hill and you arrive in the beautiful town of oak glen. They have apple orchards where you can pick your own apples, pumpkin patches, apple cider, apple pie, and about any other apple item you can think of. We went to Riley's Log Farm and the Los Rios apple farm. Both places were pretty busy. I guess everyone else had the same idea to enjoy the fall festivities. Here are a few pictures from today. Lyla had so much fun playing with other kids, petting lots of dogs, and picking up random sticks and apples off the ground.

One of Lyla's favorite things to do is climb...and she took advantage of the bales of hay that were just the right size for her to climb on. Apparently, to a three year old, bales of hay are much more fun than a bunch of pumpkins.

*Lyla looks like she is dressed as some kind of a french schoolboy, but we were prepared for cooler weather and had to shed some of her layers. She looked much better when her coat was on.*
