I have been trying to teach Lyla to sign "bye-bye" since she was about 4 months old. She FINALLY started to sign it back to me for the first time yesterday. She doesn't do it every single time, and her version of signing good-bye is just opening and closing her fingers with her hand facing her. She stares at her hand in disbelief and wonderment every time she does it. I am finally reaping my rewards after 4 months of pumping my hand open and closed for minutes on end while walking out the front door. It was worth it. I am so proud of her!
