When you wish upon a star

Today is family day and we started our morning by watching an epic classic.  Pinocchio is my favorite Disney movie of all time.  OK, when I was a little girl, I remember when the Little Mermaid came out and I wanted to be Ariel and swim around with my crustacean friends who could rock out.  However, as an adult, I can now appreciate the moral lessons the legendary masterpiece Pinocchio has to offer.  First and foremost, always be a dreamer because when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.  Also, always let your conscience be your guide.  After all, your conscience can help you avoid trouble, but can do nothing for you once you're in it.  Don't tell lies, because it gets you into deeper and deeper trouble.  Last but not least, if you are truly good, you will become a real boy!  Pinocchio's bravery, loyalty, and honesty are all tested during the thrilling journey of achieving his dream.  I love the names of the characters: Cleo, Figaro, Geppetto, Stromboli.  Love them.  I am so glad that this movie was digitally restored and released on DVD.  What a treat!

Family day continues.  After Lyla's nap, we're off to Chula Vista harbor for Lyla's first expedition on her grandpa's boat.  Can't wait.
