Road Trip!

This is the pic I took as we were saying our goodbyes.  I knew 4 days away from my baby girl was going to be hard...and it was!  She stayed with her wonderful grandma and grandpa in Running Springs while we had our romantic getaway.
Our room at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo.  We absolutely LOVED this place!  This room is named "Carin", which means "endearment" in Swiss.  How perfect.
The view of our room from outside.  That's me at the top left on one of our two private balconies.
My artsy picture.  Trav was on the phone with his mom (of course) attempting to describe the room to her.
The angel that floated above our bed.
This waterfall is right behind the pool at the Madonna Inn.  Beautiful.
Poolside with our cocktails.  I had a pink mojito which had pureed strawberry and strawberry liquor.  It was the perfect drink to match the surroundings.
My absolute FAVORITE photo ever.  This captures us perfectly.  I just adore my man. Thank God for cameras with timer settings.
While waiting for our tour at Hearst Castle, we drove 3 miles up the road to see the elephant seals.  There are a few behind us waaaaaaaaaaaay in the background.  Supposedly, they are huge and incredible to see up close.  I guess most of them must have been swimming.  Oh well, off to Hearst Castle!
The outdoor pool at the Hearst Castle.  This was the most impressive feature.  This pool was so beautiful and clear.  Our tour guide explained to us that it has the original filtration system from the 1930s.  Incredible!
We have so many photos where Trav just sticks his arm out and we hope that we're getting as much of the background as possible while not cutting out either of our heads.  He is quite good at it by now.
One of the many turnouts we stopped at while driving up the coast.  It was BEAUTIFUL!
Half Moon Bay.  We stayed at the Ritz.  Eh.  It was nothing compared to the Madonna Inn.  We were bored with it within 5 minutes.  So, off to SF to visit Trisha!
This is cute Trisha who lives above a taqueria in the Mission District.  She's standing on her "balcony" and waving us over to her place.  We had fun with her and her roomies.  Our evening involved a saltine-eating challenge which Trisha's boyfriend was disturbingly good at.  Can you eat 8 saltines in under 60 seconds?  Try it.
Finally, we came home to our precious little girl after 4 days on the road.  We had an amazing 3 year anniversary trip, but nothing beats coming home to this face.
